INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN ENGINEERING DAY

International Women in Engineering Day is commemorated annually on June 23rd to celebrate the achievements of women in the engineering field and to promote gender diversity within the profession. It serves as a platform to celebrate female engineers who are making strides in theindustry, inspire more girls to pursue careers in STEM and advocate for policies that promote equality and inclusion in the workplace.

The initiative was established in 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society in the United Kingdom as part of their efforts to commemorate their 95th anniversary. The commemorations quickly gained momentum and evolved into a global recognition of women in engineering. Today, it is celebrated in over 60 countries, bringing attention to the importance of fostering diversity in engineering and addressing the barriers women face in entering and thriving in this profession.

International Women in Engineering Day encourages individuals, organizations, and institutions to participate by hosting events, sharing stories of women engineers, and promoting actions that support inclusivity.
